Poole Ukulele Pluckers & Strummers (PUPS) was formed in October 2014 to fill the void left for ukulele players in Poole following the discontinuation of the long established and very popular Poole Ukulele Players (P'Uke).

 

Our aim is to provide a monthly event where ukulele enthusiasts can meet, play, sing, chat and generally have a good time. We do not have any ideas of grandeur - whatever your playing ability you are welcome to join us - and with 50 or more players, the occasional (?) duff chord is in good company!

 

The songbooks that can be downloaded from this site have all been picked as popular and straightforward to play, and the majority of them have only 3 or 4 chords.

 

We do have 'open mic' spots when some players perform solos or perhaps duets. 

 

Where possible we try to support local charities by attending fund raising events etc.

 

But above all, PUPS is about ukulele players having fun.
